Student Pastor
The Elders have decided that TSCC is in need of and ready for a Full-Time Student
Pastor. This decision was presented at the Moving Ahead meeting on Sunday, April
20
th
. Byron Morris has agreed to head up the search team Thank You Byron for
your willingness to serve. Byron will be in the process of forming the search team and
begin seeking qualified candidates.
The general characteristics that we are seeking in a Student Pastor are as follows:
"    Preferred Married
"    High degree of maturity and experience in Life, Spiritual Walk and Student
Ministry
"    Disciple-Maker
"    Equipping Ministry Focus
"    Effective Team Leader
"    Desire to Minister to Parents
"    Music/Worship Experience
"    Strong Interest in Missions (local, national and foreign)
To fund this new position, we are asking the congregation to increase their giving. We
are all acutely aware of the rising costs around us. However, in simple terms, with
approximately 110 families attending TSCC, if each family gave an additional $10 per
week, we would have more than enough money to hire a Student Pastor. At the same
time, we are realistic that not all families can give more at this time. So, we are asking
each Tulip Street Church attendee to prayerfully seek Gods guidance and respond
according to His leading.
Seeking a Student Pastor is our first priority. However, if TSCC responds as you have
in the past, we may have far more funds than needed. If this be the case, those funds
would be allocated toward the current mortgage debt and work to becoming a debt
free Church. I believe this vision is awesome and exactly what our Heavenly Father
would desire of us.
As always we look forward to working alongside you in this endeavor.
Continue to pray and lets do what God has called us to do !
I am currently preaching through the Book of Ephesians. The theme for this series is,
Who We Are In Christ. This series is approximately thirteen weeks long involving
both theology and practicality, as is typical for Pauls writings. I would love it if you
would bring your Bibles with you on Sundays underline, make notes, whatever
strikes you. I also think it would profit you a great deal if you would read the passage
ahead during the week as part of your quiet time. This would help you be more in-tune
to what is spoken on Sunday mornings. Check out your Worship Folder, the next
weeks text is always in there for you.
